2024 Pole Vault Camps

This is a developmental clinic to help become a better athlete and coach. The clinic is designed to teach techniques, offer constructive criticism, and give assistance in a workout environment.

8:00 - 8:30 a.m.	Check-In
8:30 - 8:50 a.m.	Warm-Ups - Split Into Groups
Group 1 - Beginners/Intermediate
9:00 a.m.	Approach / Runway Drills on track
10:00 a.m.	Plant Drills with slide boxes / towels
11:00 a.m.	Pop-ups / Short Approach Vaults
12:00 p.m.	Camp Ends
Group 2 - Advanced
9:00 a.m.	Approach / Runway Drills into Pits
10:00 a.m.	Plant Drills with slide boxes / towels
11:00 a.m.	Pop-ups / Short Approach Vaults
12:00 p.m.	Camp Ends

Location: Wayne State College Recreation Center - Indoor Track

What To Bring:

Workout Clothes
Spikes (1/4" max length)
Must have own poles

Pole Vault drills by HS coaches
Technique & Skill Instruction
Runway approach work
Pole Vaulting into pits

COACHES

MARLON BRINK – WAYNE STATE COLLEGE. Coach Brink is in his 24^th year as the head coach of WSC XC/TF.
TRAVIS KAMM – WAYNE STATE COLLEGE. Coach Kamm is in his 12^th year as the sprints/hurdles/jumps coach at WSC.
JOHNNIE OSTERMEYER – Crofton HS PV Coach. Previously also coached at Pierce and South Sioux City HS. Vaulted in college at Wayne State College.
TERRY BEAIR – Wayne HS PV Coach. Previously also coached at Laurel-Concord and Winside High Schools. Member of the National PV Coaches Association.
TERRY GLENN – Norfolk Catholic HS PV Coach. Coaching since 2001. Has had over 30 State Medalists.
